Welcome
Hello online world!
My name is Jessica and for years I have been looking for a good Vietnamese cookbook. Not being able to find one that I really loved, I decided to start documenting my mom and collecting my own recipe for my cookbook for my kitchen and to pass down to my children and other family members. My mom is where I learned most of my recipes. She is a wonderful cook, but like many other Vietnamese moms, she cooks completely by taste and doesn't use any recipes. Any dish that I would ask her how to make would follow the same answer; add some garlic, a little honey, a little fish sauce, salt and pepper. There's so many variety of dishes out there, so unsatisfied with that answer I started writing everything down when I observed her and then would go home and test out the dishes until I was satisfied with the recipe. This site is for sharing all the good eats that I have learned over the years. I hope you enjoy it and please, feedback is always welcome. Now, it's time to create some tasty eats.

Hello again my online friends!
So I have decided to change the direction of my blog. Yes, I still love Vietnamese food. However, my everyday cooking in my household leans more toward "Clean Eating." What does this mean? Well over the years, I have changed my diet to a exclude processed, refined food and more toward the most natural state. For example, instead of drinking store-brought juice, I feed my family green smoothies from fresh veggies and fruits. Instead of snacking on cookies, my family eats homemade bars made of dates, nuts, fruit and oatmeal. Now Vietnamese food for the most part fits this because every meal is full of a platter of fresh herbs and lettuce, however I have reduce and eliminate rice and noodles from my diet so I have to experiment more before I can post more Vietnamese influence recipes. I hope you enjoy the changes.
One more thing. If you want to get the recipes that were on this blog, but not as healthy check out the Cook and Eat blog. This blog is dedicated to the Cook and Eat Gathering as well as has posting about different cooking classes that I have taken in the Bay Area.
