Healthy Eating Progress
So it has been a few years before I decided to really commit to eating for health. How did it all started? Well I was always heavy as a child, but after having my daughters I was over 200 pounds. Now I ate what I thought was healthy and I was actively exercising by jogging, playing tennis, and lifting weights while I was 200 pounds. I did not reach 200 pounds because I ate junk food and did not exercise. I was active, ate lots of whole grains.I figure my weight was due to my diagnosis of PCOS, which leads to a hormonal imbalance and insulin resistant. I had given up the possibility that I would ever lose weight until my friend convince me to eliminate bread and sugar out of my diet.

Over the next four years, my husband and I slowly started changing our diet to eliminate out process food and change our typical meals from your typical normal "healthy" diet of whole grains and non-fat to a more clean diet consisting of high fiber vegetables, lean meat and fruit. Through the change of our diet, I dropped nearly 70 pounds and went from a size 18 to a size 8. My health has also improve drastically. My last blood test results showed that my hormone level are normal. I am rarely sick, have tons of energy, and I am not only a smaller dress size than I was in high school, but I feel healthier than when I was younger.
I do not consider how I eat a diet, but my new lifestyle. I still do indulge in dry fruits, nuts, peanut butter, and cannot help but eat chocolate. There is a difference between a clean diet versus dieting for weight loss. To successfully lose weight though you have to eat a healthy diet. At this time in my life I am focusing more on healthy dieting to improve health, reduce illness, and to look and feel younger. However, I will clue you in on tips of how to lose weight as I learn about them. I love nutrition and health. Blame it on my science background. I love to inform people of what I learn, because the more people know about health, the more they can improve their own lives.
